Out-of-towners charged with felony shoplifting, drug possession

THOMASVILLE — Three Valdosta residents walked out of Walmart with more than $1,700 worth of merchandise they did not pay for, according to Thomasville police.
Store personnel watched the trio leaving the business with three carts of merchandise. Employees followed the suspects through the pharmacy exit and saw them load the merchandise into a vehicle, a Thomasville Police Department incident report shows.
Police arrived and stopped the vehicle. The incident report states suspects admitted to stealing the merchandise.
Angeric Alexander, 25, also of Valdosta, was in the car but did enter the store. Police found marijuana in her purse and charged her with misdemeanor marijuana possession, said Sgt. Toby Knifer, assistant police criminal investigations commander.
Lakendar Locklear, 20, Luther Roberts, 48, and Dajah Evans, 19, are charged with felony shoplifting. Roberts has an outstanding warrant and is being held for Lowndes County authorities.
The following stolen items were found in the vehicle:
• 11 pairs of pants
• 25 shirts
• 10 pairs of men’s underwear
• 13 pairs of socks
• Pressure washer
• Three sets of cookware
• Two blenders
• Two food processors
• 21 items of miscellaneous toiletries
Stolen items were recovered and returned to Walmart.
In a separate shoplifting incident, Dora Gomez-Iraheta, 41, was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she attempted to conceal women’s clothing while in a fitting room at Belk, according to reports.
Gomez-Iraheta told police she has problem with seeing things she wants and taking them, a police report stated. The suspect admitted to attempting to steal the clothing valued at $138.
