Fugitive gets bond in shooting case

THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville man wanted in a Wright Street shooting and captured in Florida last week in being held at the Thomas County Jail in lieu of a $21,000 bond.
The suspect, Desmond Swain, 20, Thomasville, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The other suspect in the shooting is Jarroby Jackson, 24, Thomasville, who was denied bond. Jackson is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation. Jackson was on probation for theft by receiving stolen property.
Police said the suspects rode by a Wright Street business two weeks ago and fired shots as a man walked out of the store. Projectiles traveled over the victim’s head and struck the business.
A search began for Jackson and Swain. Police tracked them to Jacksonville, Florida. They were found at a relative’s residence in nearby Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Suspects waived extradition and were returned to Thomas County.
