MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man was attacked Saturday night by an assailant who had threatened him some five years previously that he was going to “get” him when he reached adulthood.

Collin Ray Bentley, 21, told police that he had dated his attacker’s daughter when he was 16 years old. At that time the man made a threat Bentley took to mean that he would beat him up “when he was old enough.”

At about 11:14 p.m. Friday Bentley was talking with someone outside a business in the 100 block of First Street Southeast when the man who had made the threat hit him in the mouth. He also hit him in the eye and tried to pull Bentley out of his car as he tried to leave.

A witness confirmed Bentley’s account, police said.

Bentley had some swelling around his left eye, police said. An arrest warrant will be taken on a charge of battery.

In an unrelated violent episode, Stacy Latasha Brown, 23, 614 First Ave. N.W., was charged Thursday with aggravated assault.

She is accused of stabbing Javarus Johnson three times in the left arm, according to Moultrie police.

Police described the incident as a domestic dispute between Brown and her boyfriend.

Johnson was not seriously injured and was treated and released from the hospital, police said.
