MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County boys soccer team tuned up for Friday’s Region 1-7A game at Tift County by pounding Lee County 8-1 on Tuesday in windy Leesburg.
The Packers are now 12-2 this season and have outscored their opponents by a combined 65-9.

More important to coach Jimbo Jarvis is his team’s 3-1 record in region games. The Packers can extend their lead atop the league standings with a victory over the Blue Devils, who are 1-2 in the region and 5-4 overall.
Colquitt defeated Tift 1-0 in overtime on March 2 at Packer Park.
“We’ve got Tifton on our radar now and we are not worrying about who we play next week,” said Jarvis. “We just want to play one game at a time.”
The victory was the Packers seventh in a row since back-to-back shutout losses at Camden County (2-0) and Thomas County Central (1-0) on Feb. 16 and Feb. 20.
Colquitt has already avenged the loss in Kingsland with a 7-0 victory over Camden County at Packer Park on March 9.
The victory over Lee County did not get off to an auspicious start.

The Trojans, playing with the gusting wind at their backs, scored in the 28th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The goal came on one of just two shots for Lee County, both of which came in the first half.
It took 10 more minutes for the Packers to even the score on a goal by Abrahm Sanchez off an assist by Jose Moreno.
Just a minute later, the Packers took the lead on a goal by Ruben Gonzalez. Carlos Landa got the first of his three assists.
The Packer lead remained 2-1 at the end of the first 40 minutes.
“Lee packed it in,” Jarvis said. “And the wind was ridiculous. But once we scored that first goal, it kind of opened the floodgates.”
Colquitt scored six goals in the second half, including three by Raymon Garcia.
His first came just four minutes in, with Landa credited with the assist.
Four minutes later, Emmanuel Rodriguez made it 4-1, with Landa again assisting.
In the 54th minute, Garcia scored again with Gonzalez getting assist. Five minutes later Josh Avolis got an unassisted goal to put the Packers up 6-1.
After Pedro Luna scored off a Bryan Jimenez assist in the 67th minute, Garcia got the hat trick. Keeper Tony Jimenez was credited with an assist after booting the ball far downfield to Garcia.
“I think we possessed the ball about 98 percent of the time,” Jarvis estimated. “And we moved the ball extremely well.”
The lopsided second half allowed Jarvis to substitute liberally.
“We got plenty of JV guys and the bench in,” Jarvis said.
Also on Friday, Camden County, 1-3 in the region, will travel to meet Lowndes, 2-1.
• The Colquitt County girls dropped the first game Tuesday at Lee 8-0 to fall to 5-8 overall. The Lady Packers will take an 0-4 region record into their match with the Lady Devils, who are 8-3-1 overall and 3-0 in the region.
