Student charged with making bomb threats

TIFTON — One high school student has been charged for making bomb threats at Tift County High School, according to the Tifton Police Department.
A press release from the TPD states that on Mar. 14, students in an 8 a.m. class reported that another student had made possible threats about a bomb at the high school.
“Tift County High School staff took action and began looking into the allegations brought to them by students,” the release states.
TPD’s School Resource Officers were made aware of the situation and an investigation was initiated, which led to the arrest, the report states.
One student was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.
The name of the student has not been released.
Tift County Public Schools did not immediately return requests for comment.
