CCHS teacher serves on national test committee

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County High School teacher Cathy Wentworth was recently chosen to represent Colquitt County at the ACCESS Bias and Sensitivity Content Review Speaking and Listening Series 501 Conference hosted by the Center for Applied Logistics in Washington, D.C. on March 5-6.
Wentworth teaches English to speakers of other languages at CCHS.
The ACCESS test is given to English language learners (ELL) to assess language proficiency in kindergarten through 12th grade students.
The test committee members reviewed the content of the questions in the Speaking and Listening sections of the test. The test also measures the reading and writing abilities of the ELL students. The committee reviewed the content appropriateness, accuracy, comprehensibility, and readability of the ACCESS test.
The ACCESS test is a national test and is given to students throughout the United States.
Members of the review committee came from states across the nation.
