“It caught my heart,” said Roesner. “It celebrates her battle and gives her a day to feel beautiful.”

It works like this:

Nominations for local patients can be made through the Hello Gorgeous website.

Once a month, Posh Salon will choose one of the nominations.

There, she, in Roesner’s words, “gets totally made over.”

The nominee will get a facial, manicure, pedicure, hair and makeup services, along with wig services if needed.

After being outfitted for the day, she’ll head to lunch with family and friends.

Posh is planning to do it the second Monday of each month, and Roesner hopes to eventually expand it, both here and in other cities.

“I’m hoping that Valdosta, Albany, Fitzgerald, Ocilla, Nashville, all these towns around us will see what we’re doing and one of the salons in their town will get involved,” said Roesner.

The first nomination has been selected for March 12 and they’re working on selecting someone for April.

Roesner asks for people making nominations to not tell the person they nominate.

Nominations can be made at www.hellogorgeous.org

Any organization or business who wants to be part of celebrating cancer fighters can reach Roesner at 229-326-1465.

Posh Salon is located at 192 S. Virginia Avenue.
