2 hurt in Hwy. 37 crash

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Saturday morning collision sent a Moultrie man and woman to the hospital for apparently minor injuries.
The accident on Highway 37 occurred at about 7:30 a.m., according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Carlos Williams, 45, of Moultrie was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg heading west when he traveled into the path of a 2010 Infiniti Base Sport driven by Jose Aguilar, 37, the GSP said..
Aguilar tried to avoid a collision but the Volkswagen struck the door of his car.
Aguilar and passenger Maria Jiminez Valdez, 21, were transported by emergency medical services to Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
They were treated and released home, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Williams was charged with failure to maintain lane and driving while license is suspended or revoked.
He told police that fell asleep while driving. He was not injured, the GSP said.
