Deputies nab man wanted in Arkansas

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Hartsfield man wanted by Arkansas authorities on an active warrant was among those arrested recently by Colquitt County law enforcement agencies.
Pryor Jacob Carter was arrested on Monday at his 1901 County Line Road residence, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office. He was being held on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Carter, 22, is wanted in Arkansas on a parole violation charge, police said.
In other arrests
Moultrie Police
• Brandie Lynna Reed, 39, 1708 First Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with financial transaction card theft, criminal receipt of goods and services fraudulently obtained, theft by taking and financial transaction card fraud.
Reed was arrested after her employer, Applebee’s, 421 Veterans Parkway N., reported that an employee who went into the office area and stole $500 from the wallet of employee Jamie Carl.
What Reed did not know was that video cameras had been installed due to previous thefts from the office. An officer watched video that showed the theft, police said.

• Joshua Mackey Wiggins, 24, 2900 N.W. 102nd St., Miami, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, driving while license withdrawn and speeding.

Thefts

• Colquitt County Schools, 710 Lane St., reported Wednesday that an employee had stolen some $1,695 in funds paid by students for a field trip to Washington, D.C.
A school system employee told police that the employee admitted to taking the money and had returned it. The Colquitt County School Board did not wish to press criminal charges in the case, police said.
• Yasmine French, 1300 block 11th Avenue Southwest, reported Wednesday the theft of an iPhone 10 valued at $1,000.
French told police that she was allowing an acquaintance to use the phone, but canceled the service on it when she learned it was being used for illegal activity. The acquaintance then told her that he was keeping the phone.
Moultrie Police
• Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S., reported Wednesday the theft of merchandise valued at $679.

Sheriff’s Office
• Joel Castillo Jr., 300 block Honey Bear Road, Norman Park, reported Wednesday that a male relative who had been drinking punched him repeatedly in the face.
Joel Castillo Sr. told police that another son had attacked his brother and that Castillo Jr., who had several red marks on his face when police arrived, did nothing to instigate the violence.
Grimaldo Castillo told police that he had hit his brother because “He talk too much (expletive).” Grimaldo Castillo, 24, 250 Honey Bear Road, Norman Park, was arrested and charged with battery.
