MOULTRIE, Ga. — Faye Rowe and Mary Phillips shared an African violet program with the Magnolia Garden Club recently. They demonstrated how to root the leaves, how to pot them after the root forms and how to water and fertilize the plants. They stressed: Do not over-water, which is a problem that will kill the plant. Adequate light is most important for abundant blooms. A window that has strong bright light is good but not direct sun. You should turn pots one-fourth turn each time you water. African violets are a beautiful plant with such dainty blooms.

Ruby Bowermeister had the devotion. She chose as her text, John 3: 18-19. Her topic was the San Bernadino Massacre. The roll was called and each member answered with the name of their favorite rose.
