MOULTRIE, Ga. — The search for a man wanted for violating his parole led Colquitt County deputies to a Moultrie motel, where they found their suspect and a small quantity of what’s believed to be methamphetamine.

A parole officer called for deputies’ help in serving an arrest warrant on Gary Kyle Turner, of Norman Park. When the officers arrived at his last known address, residents told them Turner was now staying at Cocomo Inn, on First Avenue Southeast in Moultrie. There, they found his room and knocked on his door.

Turner answered, and he was arrested and searched. An empty dime-sized bag was found in his pocket. The reporting deputy said he could smell marijuana inside the room but none was ever found.

Two other people were in the room. One of them, Dillon Luke Singletary, of 2060 Funston-Doerun Road, Doerun, was charged on an outstanding warrant for probation violation.

During a search, officers said, they found drug paraphernalia, a scale and a crystal-like substance.
