MOULTRIE, Ga. — Be prepared for some changes in the traffic pattern beginning this week if you travel state Route 133 in Brooks and Colquitt counties.

Traffic will intermittently shift sides as needed for the contractor to work from about 2,000 feet south of Southerland Avenue in Colquitt County to Jackson Road in Brooks County, according to a press release from the state Department of Transportation.

Signs, barrels and barricades will guide drivers. Please remain alert driving through the work zone. The shift is expected to occur Thursday, but depends on the weather and the contractor’s schedule.

Georgia DOT is widening/reconstructing SR 133 by sections between Valdosta and Albany.

This particular section of SR 133 is 9.63 miles long, from Old Quitman Adel Road in Brooks County to County Road 256 in Colquitt County. The construction cost is $35 million. Work began in 2016 and is expected to be complete by this summer. The project is about 70 percent complete. The contractor is The Scruggs Co. of Valdosta.
