DALTON, Ga. — A tour bus taking about 40 members of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Dalton-Whitfield class to a meeting Wednesday morning with state legislators at the Capitol crashed on I-75 south near Calhoun.
Chamber CEO Rob Bradham said there were no injuries among the Dalton group, but one person went to the hospital as a precaution for dizziness.
“Thankfully, there were no significant injuries,” Bradham said.
Bradham said the bus clipped a car which was involved in a separate collision after a car was driving in the wrong direction on the interstate. He said there was minor damage to the front of the bus, and said two people in the original collision were injured and treated by medical personnel.
All of the passengers on the bus — with the exception of the person taken to the hospital for dizziness — were brought back to Dalton on a replacement bus. The meeting with legislators was canceled.
Leadership Dalton-Whitfield trains future leaders through programs, discussions, projects and visits throughout the community. It began in 1986 and has more than 1,100 graduates.
