Man in jail after sending ‘lewd’ photos, videos to minor

DALTON, Ga. — A Dalton man pleaded guilty to distributing obscene material to a minor and was sentenced to 30 days in jail as part of a plea agreement.
Willie Lamar Pringle, 26, pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Cindy Morris on Monday. Pringle must also pay a $1,000 fine, perform 100 hours of community service and have no contact with minors under the age of 18 upon his release from jail. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Pringle was arrested last year after a report from the mother of a 15-year-old that her son had received “lewd pictures and videos” on his cellphone from Pringle, according to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report. According to the indictment against Pringle to the grand jury, Pringle in August provided a minor with “visual representation” that “depicted sexually explicit nudity …”
Pringle represented himself in court. After pleading guilty, he was booked into the county jail.
