MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System recently announced a new partnership with RBDigital (Recorded Books Digital), a vendor of e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines through the Georgia Download Destination (GADD) library consortium.
Beginning Feb. 6, GADD switched from OVERDRIVE to RBDigital in order to provide libraries with a more cost efficient way to offer patrons with more electronic books, magazines and audiobook content, according to a press release from the Moultrie library.
“RBDigital offers the ability to provide patrons with not only e-books, but also e-magazines and e-audiobooks with no holds or waiting periods,” the library said. “RBDigital’s competitive pricing also allows the library to offer more content to patrons. While publishers determine the availability of titles in electronic format, GADD will continue to purchase thousands of new and popular bestsellers in e-book, e-magazine and e-audiobook formats.”
Starting Tuesday, patrons are being directed to the RBDigital platform, which will offer a similar experience to the existing OVERDRIVE platform, the library said. Users who read or listen on desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and tablets will continue to have the ability to download and enjoy these materials.
To register, users may go to the “RBDigital Georgia Download Destination” on the library’s website at mccls.org. Users must register using their PINES library card number and the password to their own library account. An email address is also required to complete registration.
RBDigital mobile apps, including those for iOS, Android, and Kindle are available from your device’s app store. Users who own dedicated Kindle e-readers, such as the Paperwhite, will need to contact RBDigital’s helpline for assistance, due to Amazon’s proprietary e-book format.
Please feel free to call your local library at 985-6540 if you have any questions. Printed brochures with step-by-step instructions are available at the library. Digital copies are available on the library’s website at mccls.org.
You can also contact RBDigital at 877-772-8346, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or email: yoursupport@recordedbooks.com.
