“We were very excited with the guys who got on board with us today,” said GMC coach and athletic director Bert Williams. “We lost only one player we expected to sign today but got three others we were not sure about. A very successful day that answered basically every need we had for the class. We do still have some holes to fill, but this was an absolutely outstanding start. A tremendous job buy our coaches.”

GMC went 8-2 last year and finished with another top-20 ranking, but the sights are set higher for 2018.

After signing out 23 to date on National Signing Day and the early signing period, the Bulldogs had numerous positions that needed help.

“We return some very dynamic guys on both sides of the ball, but we also need a lot of help in certain areas. We made great progress today, and boy, did we need it with the schedule we will be taking on next year.”

GMC has had consistent success in getting players out to four-year colleges and universities.

“Selling student-athletes on Georgia Military isn’t a tough sell,” Williams said. “We were very excited about the recent news of our No. 1 state and No. 14 national ranking by thebestschools.org, but to be honest, we have had great results for many years. The secret is finally getting out. We have sent over 550 young men out to four-year programs of all levels — in football alone — all of our programs do great work, and I am excited to see the academic strength of our school recognized.”
