The following is information compiled from public records of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. Public Drunkenness

An officer was patrolling on foot in front of the Capital City nightclub shortly before 1 a.m. Feb. 4 when a nightclub employee told him of a man trying to slip past bouncers. The officer spoke to the intoxicated man and instructed him to leave the bar, but after a few minutes, the man ignored the officer’s warning and returned. After repeatedly sending the man away only to watch him return to the bar, the officer arrested the man for public drunkenness and transported him to the Milledgeville jail.

Theft by Taking

An officer met with a man at his East Hall Street apartment shortly after 11 a.m. Feb. 4 in reference to a theft from his residence. The man said he had been letting an unknown woman stay in his apartment for the past three nights and had woken up that morning to find several items missing from his apartment. Among the missing items were the man’s driver’s license, several bank cards, $80 in cash and a case of beer, and the man reported that his cards had already been used at multiple convenience stores around town. The man told the officer he did not know the woman’s name.
