Fire destroys mobile home in Doerun

- Firefighters spray down the interior of a mobile home in Doerun that caught fire early Wednesday afternoon.
DOERUN, Ga. — The cause of a Wednesday afternoon fire that destroyed a Doerun residence was not immediately known.
Volunteer firefighters were dispatched at about 1:05 p.m. to the blaze at 523 Marlin St.
The fire gutted the single-wide mobile home. No injuries were reported.
At about 2:30 p.m. firefighters from Doerun, assisted by Bay and Funston volunteer fire units, were finishing up the job of extinguishing the blaze.
Doerun Fire Chief John Walters said that additional information may be available after firefighters have the chance to investigate at the scene and talk to witnesses.
