MOULTRIE, Ga. — Turning Point Hospital in Moultrie recently recognized its first ever Employee of the Year.
Since Turning Point opened in 1985 the hospital has each month selected an employee to honor as Service Excellence Award winner, a title given to an employee who demonstrates professionalism, dedication, and an outstanding commitment to helping others. This year Turning Point decided to inaugurate a new tradition and allowed staff members to consider each employee of the month for 2017 and select one that they felt exemplified service excellence. The winner was announced at the annual Turning Point Christmas party.
Turning Point’s first Employee of the Year is Jerome Williams, a mental health technician. Williams has been employed at Turning Point since 2015 and is from Thomasville.
His supervisor, Joyce Thornton, was thrilled that he was selected.
“Jerome is a great employee because he is so reliable and dependable,” Thornton said. “He also has an outstanding rapport with both patients and staff and never hesitates before going the extra mile for his co-workers.”
The other finalists were Casey Cheshire, mental health tech, and Shane Martin, discharge planner.
CEO Judy Payne, when making the presentation, remarked that she could not think of three better candidates for Employee of the Year.
“Being recognized by your peers is the greatest honor of all,” Payne said. “We are very proud of all of our employees and look forward to starting a new year with the finest staff to be found anywhere.”
