Rants and Raves

In response
“To the ranter who said compassion could end in a lawsuit: I assume that’s the excuse this person has come up with to justify his or her non-action. Well I’ve been working with the less-fortunate for many years.
I’ve never seen an instance where a bowl of hot soup, a ride to a homeless shelter, or just the act of bringing someone in out of the cold has resulted in a lawsuit. You remind me of those people who study the Bible only to find those passages to justify their actions. All that said, may God bless you and open your eyes and heart.
The wall
“Trump is asking Congress for 18 billion dollars to build his wall, but I thought Mexico was paying for it.
Kept his word
“President Trump has kept his word and promises more than any president during my lifetime. With the job rate up, illegal immigration down, and stock market up including tax savings I don’t care how he acts. He is helping the middle class and I appreciate that very much. Stop complaining! Thank you President Trump.
Open your eyes
“Are you so blind you can’t see how bad downtown Moultrie looks?
Give me a break! Yes, we do have the most beautiful courthouse in the world, but it’s surrounded by empty buildings.
I’d love to bring new business to Moultrie, but that’s the job of our Development authority and Chamber.
Open your eyes!
Taxes
“Why not implement ‘If you like your taxes, you can keep your taxes?’ It would allow people to put their money where their mouth is. The left can do that now, but they don’t. The left only wants to obstruct all government. They’re only charitable with other people’s money.
Business here
“To the person who says we need to bring in business: Perhaps you are oblivious to all that is going on here. We have expansions in three major firms and a medical college is coming here. These developments typically draw other businesses which is good for our local economy and our tax base. People are working hard in this regard.
Street people
“Some of those people on the streets are indeed drug addicts. And there are quite a few. Others are just homeless. Both need help. The addicts need treatment. Some have been through programs and yet they relapse.
