Tifton murder suspect arrested in Berrien County

TIFTON, Ga. — James Robert Pritchett was arrested in Berrien County on Dec. 29 at approximately 3 p.m, according to a press release from the Tifton Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Pritchett is a suspect in the Dec. 23 killing of Jamiles Taylor, 15, of Tifton.

The release states that Pritchett’s girlfriend, Nayrah Redding, has also been located and is safe.

“We would like thank the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Correction K-9 Unit, the Moultrie Police Department, Tift County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshall’s Service Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in resolving this case,” said Lt. Adam Storey with TPD’s CID.

The homicide occurred at approximately 3 p.m. at Peterson’s Apartments in Tifton, according to a press release from the Tifton Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Department.

According to police, Jamiles Taylor was shot multiple times. There may have been an argument prior to the incident but investigators are unwilling to speculate as to a motive at this time.
