CHATSWORTH, Ga. — An adult who claimed to be 17 on a dating app took a slap to the face from the angry mother of a 14-year-old girl and a trip to the Murray County jail after he snuck into the girl’s home in Chatsworth.
Vladyslav Sergeevich Prykhodko, 20, of Sapphire, N.C., was charged early Sunday morning by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with enticing a child for indecent purposes, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and criminal trespass.
According to an incident report, Prykhodko met the juvenile girl via an app called MeetMe. He told deputies the two had been chatting for two weeks. The girl told a deputy she used a friend’s phone at school to communicate with Prykhodko. She said the conversations “were normal to the effect of asking each other’s hobbies and taste in music. She then stated he asked if they could hang out in person and if he could come see her. She stated he could come to her house.” Sapphire, N.C., is about 150 miles from Chatsworth.
He told deputies he claimed to be 17 on the app and knew she was only 14, “which didn’t deter him from wishing to meet in person.”
Prykhodko parked down the street from the girl’s house, walked to the house with a blue bag and she let him into her room through a window to keep her mother from finding out, according to the report. Inside the home, he told deputies there was no physical contact. According to the report, he told deputies, “I wanted to lose control and was afraid of doing something inappropriate.” He said he and the girl were staring “intently and deeply into each other’s eyes” and said “in a moment of passion” he reached out to touch her, but said he stopped himself, “stating it was as if he hit a wall and could (not) go forward with any physical action.”
When he left the house — again through the window — a neighbor alerted the mother that someone had crawled out of a window and ran away from the house. The neighbor and another male friend of the mother chased down Prykhodko and brought him back to the house. The mother told deputies “they did not harm him due to thinking he was a child himself.” When the mother found out he was 20, she admitted to striking him in the face and then calling 911.
Inside of the blue bag, the report said deputies found two bags holding 16 grams of marijuana, a screen set and light “commonly used in smoking marijuana” and an unopened 10-pack of Trojan brand condoms.
While talking with Prykhodko, deputies asked him to pull up the app on his phone so they could see his conversations with the juvenile. That was when he told deputies he wanted a lawyer before answering any more questions.
Prykhodko is currently being held in the jail after bond was denied on Monday.
