MOULTRIE, Ga. — Drivers who happen upon more than 30 police cars on Thursday will not have come upon a massive traffic enforcement effort; the congregation of officers on U.S. Highway 319 South will be practicing radar skills.
The officers in the Basic Radar Operator’s Course being taught by a Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office investigator also will be on the roadway after a day of classroom instruction on Monday.
“As part of this course on Thursday, these students will participate in a practical exercise on U.S. Highway 319 South using a radar unit as part of the course,” said Sgt. Michael Cox, who will be the instructor. “These students will not be enforcing speeding violations. As part of the course the students must show proficiency in the setup and operation of a radar unit.”
