MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man faces drunk-driving charges in a Thursday night crash from which another man was airlifted to a Tallahassee hospital.

A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado and 2002 Dodge Neon collided at about 9:55 p.m. when the pickup truck, driven by Taylor Ralph Duke, pulled in front of the Neon, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Duke stopped at the stop sign headed south on Old Adel Road before he pulled into the path of the car driven by Jaime Hernandez, 46, also of Moultrie, the GSP said.

Duke told police that he did not see the Neon, which was traveling east on Highway 133 North, GSP reports said. The front of the Neon struck the truck.

The Neon began rotating counterclockwise , struck a post divider on Perry Road, continued spinning and came to a rest on Highway 133.

Duke’s truck overturned and landed on the passenger side.

Duke, 21, 181 Kindred Lane, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to stop for stop sign and seat belt violation.

He was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Hernandez was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, the GSP said, but no additional information on his condition was available on Monday.
