Checkout lines
“I find checkout lines entertaining whenever I’m not being frustrated. Lately I’ve read several comments in this column about experiences while checking out. I want to add a suggestion here. If you have a coupon, please have it out and ready to present when your purchase is being tallied. Don’t wait until the last minute and go digging through our purse, holding up the line.
Buyers beware
“On several occasions I have been checking out with my groceries and something that was on special rang up regular price. Since I tally my purchases as I put them in my cart, I can easily catch this. But I’m thinking not many shoppers do this and I wonder sometimes how many people pay regular when they should be getting the advertised bargain?
In a coma?
“You say our president is doing a great job. Really? Have you been in a coma? They man is a clown! He’s so less presidential a movie could be made about his presidency … a comedy!
The tax method
“Poor people don’t pay taxes and view tax cuts as going disproportionately to ’the rich’. To poor folks, ‘rich’ is anyone who makes more than them. The government says I don’t pay enough taxes and out of ‘fairness’ they need to take money from me and give it to healthy adults with kids who make zero effort to be employed.
Made me smile
“The announcer on GPB announced that the Packers had won their game and were going to the Benz. He said that he knew all of Moultrie and Colquitt County would travel to Atlanta. Made me smile. Go Pack!
Street play
“I see in today’s crime report that others have trouble with the basketball players in the streets. We have one on Lynn Street who takes up one lane and another on Sunrise who is in the middle of the lane. It is hard to see them in the morning with the sun behind them. Streets are for cars?
Buzzards
“I just passed the water tower over in southeast Moultrie and it looked like there are more buzzards than before. There has to be something that can be done, this looks like this can become a health concern. Please let the city become proactive in this situation.
Great illustration
“Our Packers are a great illustration of ‘never quit.’ Their ‘keep- pounding’ attitude should be an inspiration to all of us.
