Shoplifter escapes with 2 cases of beer

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A shoplifter who swiped two cases of beer on Thursday and sprinted across a parking lot to a waiting pickup truck made off with $48 worth of brew.

Murphy Oil USA, 505 Veterans Parkway, reported the theft at about 9:10 p.m.

An employee told police that the man walked in, picked up two cases of Bud Light and left the store. Employees chased the man, but he made it to the truck and was able to escape.

Video showed that the suspect is a bald black male with a mustache who was wearing a gray shirt with the word “Army” on it.

• Albino Monjaras, 38, 600 Circle Road, was charged Wednesday with simple battery.

• Rebecca Clark, 26, 3291 Gitmo Circle, Valdosta, was charged Friday with failure to appear.

• William Lee Poole, 35, 338-A Tommy Meredith Road, was charged Thursday with interference with government property.

• Shannon Lee Nunez, 31, 2607 R.L. Sears Road, Norman Park, was charged Thursday with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
