Packers coach Andy Harden was pleased with the way his team, still playing without several projected starters who are on the state semifinal-bound football team, played against the Bearcats.
“We still made some mistakes,” Harden said. “But we played well. We found a way to get it done.”
The Packers, who had split two games in the Fastbreak Invitational in Tallahassee over the weekend, led by three at the end of the first quarter, but stretched the advantage to 11 at the half.
Harden used a number of the backup players in the fourth quarter.
Nizarre Thompson led the Packers with 20 points, including 12 on four 3-pointers.
Quentin Dopson had 12 and Jy Andrews and Henry Daniels each chipped in 11.

Billy Stafford had seven, Elijah Scott four and Omar Daniels had two.
Harden said he is looking forward to meeting Dougherty.
“It’ll be another opportunity for our kids to compete against a good team,” he said. “We have been practicing great and working hard and have been finding ways to win.”
The Packers won their opener in Tallahassee last Friday, defeating Gadsden County (Fla.) 35-30. Thompson led the Packers with 13 points.
On Saturday, the Packers ran up against a quality Godby team from Tallahassee and lost 74-63.
“We cut it to six in the fourth quarter, but we turned it over a couple times late and they got on a run,” Harden said. “Godby’s got a real good program.”
Thompson again led the Packers in scoring, putting up 24 points. Scott added 13 and Dopson had 11.
