Doerun plans Christmas in the Park for Dec. 2

DOERUN, Ga. — Come join the Christmas festivities Saturday, Dec. 2, from 2 p.m. till 9 p.m. at the Bicentennial Park in Doerun.
There will be entertainment, food, arts and craft vendors for your Christmas shopping, and a special guest: Santa Claus for the kids to have pics with and tell their Christmas wish list to.
Doerun will light the community Christmas tree during the celebration.
Some of the entertainment will be:
2 p.m.: Welcome by Mayor Mike Campbell and the Christmas story and prayer by the Rev. David Benton.
2:30-3: CCHS Serenaders.
3:10-3:45: Mandy Harrell.
4-4:30: Jeff Davis.
4:45-5:15: Christmas music.
5:30-5:50: Randall Hooks.
6-6:30: Doerun School Choir.
6:45-7: First Baptist Church of Doerun.
7:20-8: First Baptist Church of Doerun Children’s Choir and Brook Paige and Brooke Pate.
8:15-9: Zach Stephan.
Big G’s and Henry Concessions will provide food along with vendors selling boiled peanuts, deep fried caramel apples, kettle corn, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, hot chocolate and much more.
A variety of vendors will also be on hand to handle your shopping needs with Christmas wreaths, homemade candies, jewelry, wood crafts, furniture, homemade lamps, candles, Thirty-one bags, glass bird feeders, Scentsy wax warmers, baby clothes, monograming options, bath bombs, soaps and lotions, door hangers, kids’ hair bows, toys and much more.
Children will find bouncy houses, holiday face painting, cotton candy and, of course, Santa Claus.
