Free movie offered

VALDOSTA – Bring some chairs and the family for a free movie in the park. 

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority is showing the Disney blockbuster “Moana” starting about 5:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Freedom Park, 3795 Guest Road, according to a press release.

The film is free and there’s no registration required, according to organizers.

Families are urged to take chairs or blankets for seating and are welcome to bring picnics. VLPRA will sell popcorn and drinks on a cash-only basis.

“Moana” is rated PG and runs 107 minutes. VLPRA will show the movie on its inflatable screen, which is 20 feet wide and 11 feet tall.

VLPRA has four more movies currently scheduled. The Authority will show “Arthur Christmas” downtown by the courthouse Dec. 8 as part of a collaboration with Valdosta Main Street and the City of Valdosta.

VLPRA will also show “The Santa Clause” Dec. 19 and “The Grinch” Dec. 21 as part of its “Six Days of Christmas” celebration and will show the live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” on Feb. 23, according to organizers.
