TIFTON — The Tifton Junior Woman’s Club is sponsoring the fourth annual Glow Run Nov. 17.
The Glow Run will take place at Northside Baptist Church (located at 4605 Murray Ave.) and is offering a 5K and a one-mile fun run. The fun run will begin at 6 p.m., with the 5K following at 6:45 p.m.
Proceeds from the Glow Run will be used by the Junior Woman’s Club for its scholarship fund as well as for local service projects. In 2017, the organization gave out $4,000 in local scholarships.
Besides the Glow Run races, there will be adoptable animals available from the Tift County Animal Shelter. The Animal Shelter will also be accepting donations, such as pet food.
Registration for the 5K is $25, $20 for the fun run and $40 for both. Family or team registration — groups of three or more — offers a discount, with the 5K registration for $15 per person, with the one-mile run $10 and both for $25.
Everyone who registers by Friday is guaranteed a long-sleeved T-shirt, a glow necklace and a glow bracelet.
Awards will be given out to the top overall male and female, male and female masters and the top three in each age group. Finishers ages 12 and under will receive a medal. There will be separate awards for most creative costume.
Registration can be done by filling out a form on the Tifton Junior Woman’s Club Facebook page (www.facebook.com/tiftonjuniorwomensclub), via active.com or on the day of the event.
