Veterans Day Parade to be held Friday

THOMASVILLE — The City of Thomasville is partnering with local veterans groups for the second year in a row to present the Veterans Day Parade on Friday, November 10 at 6 p.m. in downtown Thomasville. The community is encouraged to attend the parade to celebrate the men and women who have served in the U.S. military. 

Veterans Day officially became a national holiday in 1938; it’s a day to show respect and gratitude to those who were willing to serve the country.

“The City of Thomasville fully supports our local veterans groups and encourages everyone to take time on Veterans Day to stop and thank a veteran for their service,” said Sarah Turner, City of Thomasville events director. “The Veterans Day Parade is an acknowledgment of the indebtedness we have to our veterans, as well as a celebration of appreciation.We invite the entire community to honor our veterans by attending this year’s parade.”  

The Veterans Day Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and will run down Broad Street, beginning at Washington Street and ending at Remington Avenue.
