MOULTRIE, Ga. — The 2nd Annual Colquitt Christian Academy Pumpkin Patch 5K and Children’s Race was held at Calvary Baptist Church on Oct. 14.
Yotzen Bruno, 25, of Norman Park (20:06) was the overall winner.
Pollyanna Bass, 45, of Pavo (22:18) was the first female to cross the finish line.
Nearly 100 people completed the 5K race, and approximately 30 kids participated in the children’s race and obstacle course, according to a press release from the school. Many others came out to cheer on the racers, volunteer and enjoy other race day festivities, including bouncy houses, face painting, visits with the mobile crime lab, children’s games and the pumpkin patch at Calvary Baptist Church.
Chick-fil-A, Fuller’s Restaurant, Daylight Donuts, Starbuck’s Coffee and Firehouse Subs donated an assortment of breakfast and dessert items including hot biscuits, donuts, hot coffee, iced water and a variety of cookies and brownies.
There was a silent auction featuring fantastic prizes from local businesses as well as student inspired pumpkins including Stitch, Simba, Cheshire Cat, Princess Poppy, Boss Baby and Pinocchio.
The event was made possible by a multitude of sponsors including Barefoot Cattle Company, The Kirk Clinic, Sterling Physician Group, Eagles of America Inc., Twin Lakes Sales LLC, Radiology Associates of Moultrie, Chick-fil-A, Whatagraphic! and National Beef.
Founded in 2015, CCA relies heavily on community support and outside donations to operate and provide a classical Christian education to students, the press release said.
“The school encourages every student to develop a love for learning and live up to their full academic potential,” it said.
