THOMASVILLE — A purse that fell from a vehicle onto East Jackson Street late Saturday morning had disappeared when the owner and a Thomasville police officer attempted to retrieve it, according to reports.
The owner of the purse and her husband left a business in the 1100 block of East Jackson Street. A Thomasville Police Department incident reports says an unsecured door on their vehicle opened near East Jackson’s intersection with Love Street. The owner thinks that is where the purse fell from the vehicle.
The woman and her husband returned to the area and looked for the red plastic purse, but it was gone.
An off-duty police officer and his brother, traveling on East Jackson, saw the purse. They turned around and returned to the site to retrieve the purse. It had disappeared.
The purse contained the woman’s Georgia driver’s license, Social Security card, health insurance cards, a small amount of cash, a black iPhone and two pairs of glasses.
