“In case you are not familiar with a regional yard sale, let us explain,” the yard sale’s board of directors writes on its website, www.100milepeanutpickinyardsale.com.

“Basically anyone, who has permission from the land or business owner along the 100-mile highway route may set up on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, and host a yard sale and/or bake sale, sell water and/or drinks and prepackaged food items,” the website says. “There is no charge to set up outside the city. However, if you would like to be an ‘Official Vendor’ and be listed on the local area map or if you want to set up a yard sale within the city limits, the vendor application fee is $30. You will receive an ‘Official Vendor’ yard sign once your vendor application and fee are received. All proceeds from your yard sale go directly to your family or organization. This is a joint tourism effort for our area and an invitation for visitors to come to our area who may looking to purchase a home or even start a business.”
