Mother Easter Baptist Church to honor pastor & his wife

The Rev. Daughtry Melton will speak at an appreciation service for the pastor and pastor's wife of Mother Easter Baptist Church.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Mother Easter Baptist Church will honor its pastor and first lady, the Rev. Freddie L. and Mrs. Margie H. Castle, at a Pastor and Pastor’s Wife Appreciation program on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Daughtry B. Melton III will be the  guest speaker for the program.

Melton, a native of Tifton, graduated from Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, Ga. Upon graduating from high school, he entered Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science where he studied human restoration and the art of embalming. Upon completing his studies at Gupton-Jones College, Melton sat for and passed the National and State Exams in Funeral Service.

Afterwards, he and his wife started the Southview Mortuary Inc., in 1992 and now have businesses in Tifton, Cook and Colquitt counties.

Melton heard the call of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was assigned to the pastorate of Pine Bloom Baptist Church in Mystic for 12 years. In 2015, he was called to the pastorate of Simmon Grove Baptist Church, where he currently serves as pastor.

Melton is married to the former Victoria Burr, and with this union, they have three children, Darrell M. Melton, Precious D. Melton and Daughtry B. Melton IV.

Mother Easter is located at 1400 W. Central Ave. The public is invited to attend.
