Moultrie girl named Tiny Miss U.S. Forestry Queen

- Blair Summerlin of Moultrie was recently selected as the 2017 US National Tiny Miss Forestry Queen.
TIFTON, Ga. — While representing Georgia as Tiny Miss Tift County, Blair Summerlin was selected as the 2017 US National Tiny Miss Forestry Queen on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Blair is the 7-year-old daughter of Keith and Jayna Summerlin of Moultrie and is in the second grade at Norman Park Elementary.
She also won the Photogenic award.
Blair was crowned with an official US National Forestry crown, designed specifically for the US National pageant. She also received a full-length white crushed velvet and embroidered robe, a rhinestone and embroidered sash and a bouquet of roses.
As the forestry queen, she will make numerous appearances and have the opportunity to travel and promote the forestry industry nationally.
The Miss Georgia Forestry pageant was started in 1940 for the purpose of offering educational opportunities to young women while promoting Georgia’s number one industry, forestry. It’s the oldest scholarship pageant in Georgia.
Blair also is a member of Heritage Church. She was sponsored by Griffin Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep, Tifton, Georgia.
