WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. — While Stacy Tebo’s contract expired last month, she will continue to serve as White Springs’ town manager.
At its Sept. 26 meeting, the town council made Tebo interim town manager for three months while it reviews her work and performance by a 3-2 vote with Walter McKenzie and Helen Miller dissenting.
That followed an in-depth discussion about why the council had not previously held a meeting to discuss her work and performance over the past two years.
Tebo’s contract expired Sept. 12 and the council decided to table approving her contract until a later meeting.
The tentative millage rate for 4.5208 and budget for 2017-18 year was adopted and the final hearing will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Shauna Adams-Farries and Paige Bullard were approved to join the special events committee, which will be having a meeting on Monday at 5 p.m.
The school board asked the Town of White Springs to discuss whether they would like use of the old South Hamilton Elementary School property. The council decided to ask the school board if the basketball court is still going to be open for the public as discussed when the school planned to close SHES.
The council also approved various agreements for improvements around town.
An agreement for a SCOP Grant with FDOT for the Kendrick Street Drainage and Paving Project was approved.
Also, the Willie Guy Turner Park project was awarded $100,000 in FRDAP grant funds to begin Phase 1 and 2 of placing new equipment and renovating areas of the park.
The Veteran’s Park’s kiosk has also been approved and plans were drawn up. The town currently is waiting on the building permit.
The kiosk already has all of the parts ready to be put together and some landscaping will be going into the area around where the kiosk will be set up.
