MOULTRIE, Ga. — Armed robbers with covered faces hit the same Overlook Drive residence twice over a roughly two-day period, with one victim having his cash stolen during both incidents.
A third man, who had gone to the side of the 1625 Overlook Drive residence to relieve himself, was able to avoid the two gunmen on Thursday night. As the witness walked back toward the porch he saw that his friends were being held at gunpoint lying down on the porch and was able to walk away before the gunmen noticed him.
Anselmo Rivera Salazar, who lived at the residence, and Uriel Reyes, of Norman Park, told police at about 10:30 p.m. two black males came around from the east side of the residence.
One pressed a semi-automatic pistol with a black grip and silver slide to Reyes’ head and ordered him to the floor. The robber then asked for his money and took about $215 from his wallet.
Salazar told police that the second gunman ordered him to the floor also and searched him, while his accomplice did the same to Reyes, taking about $200 out of his pocket.
They described both assailants as young men perhaps in their 20s, both about 5 foot 10 inches or a little more with slim builds. Both were dressed in all dark clothing.
Reyes and Salazar said that after taking their money the gunmen ran down Overlook toward Edwards Street.
The men reported the robbery the following day, telling police that there the delay was because were scared at the time it occurred.
On Saturday, robbers returned to the residence at 1:21 a.m. while Salazar, Alberto Rivera Salazar, who also lives there, and Teles Fovo Martinez of Moultrie were sitting outside.
Martinez told police that three black males dressed in all black and wearing stocking masks robbed the three of them at gunpoint. The assailants approached and ordered them to the ground.
Martinez refused to hand over his money and was forced to the ground and then one of the robbers hit him in the face with a pistol.
Alberto Salazar reported seeing the gunman hit Martinez in the head. When another noticed Alberto Salazar was watching he struck him in the head with a pistol and asked him, “Why are you watching?”
The robbers had the same general description as those from Thursday night, and they ran towards Edwards Street as the earlier robbers had done.
Martinez and Alberto Salazar had bleeding cuts on their foreheads, police said. Paramedics treated them at the scene, but they did not require a trip to the hospital.
The robbers made off with the victims’ wallets, cash and a Samsung cell phone and an LG cell phone.
