Colquitt County 38, Bishop Sullivan 7; Propst 100th win

MOULTRIE – No, you won’t have to wait until 2018 for a nice milestone.
Behind the newfound connection of quarterback Steven Krajewski and slot receiver Ty Shealey, Colquitt County High proved too much for one of the top high school football squads out of Virginia Saturday. Krajewski was 13-for-19 passing for 239 yards and four touchdowns. Shealey caught a season–best five passes for 107 yards and his first two touchdowns of 2017.

With Krajewski rushing for a touchdown, and the Packer defense sacking the visiting quarterback five times, Colquitt County improved to 6-1 with a commanding 38-7 win against the Bishop Sullivan Catholic Crusaders from Virginia Beach on Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
This was head coach Rush Propst’s 100th career victory in 10 years leading the Packers.
Even though the Crusaders ran nearly 30 plays in the first quarter alone, it was obvious they could not contain the speed and tenacity of Mo Dixon’s defensive unit. Special teams was also playing with pep, for they went after the punter on the first series and Jujuan Williams brought him down on the 12. Two plays later, Krajewski was running into the end zone.
Ryan Fitzgerald made all of his PAT kicks.
Again, Bishop Sullivan was running plays and running plays, but Deandre Grant snuffed the fourth-down conversion try on the Packer 43.
With 4:23 left in the first quarter, Colquitt completed a 45-yard drive in three plays. The big gain was Shealey’s catch over the middle on about the 30 and sprint to the end zone.

Despite Michael Roberts’ sack of Tyler Deuse, the visiting quarterback got his team on the board at 1:30 on a 20-yard throw to Armani Chatman.
Moving into the second quarter, the Crusaders were seeking a tying touchdown only to fall prey to the tackling of Rashad Revels. He sacked Deuse, and with help from Dante Moore Colquitt got the football back on downs.
Fitzgerald, after going 4-for-4 in field goals the week before, kicked a 27-yarder good at 7:52.
The Packer lead then went to 24-7 after a drive of 57 yards. Krajewski found Marvion McDonald for a big 3rd-and-11 conversion of 16 yards on the Crusader 42. From the 45, Shealey ran his over-the-middle route deeper, catching the football on the 30. The rest, he made up on his own.
Now leading 24-7, the Packer defense responded when Bishop Sullivan found its way up to the Pack 25. Brian Merritt and Nathan Bell sacked Deuse, then Jay Ward intercepted a pass.
Colquitt had first possession of the second half, and because of Bishop Sullivan’s need to do the onside kickoff, things started on its 47.
Shealey’s last catch turned 3rd-and-9 into first down on the BS 42. The Packer running game was a bit stagnant, but Ty Leggett earned first down on the 26. From the 27, Krajewski hit tight end Josh Hadley in the flat, and he scampered all the way to the end zone.
To notch the final 38-7 score, Colquitt only needed three plays to go 57 yards. Cam Singletary broke tackles and stiff armed his way to a touchdown of 48 yards.
Roberts caused and recovered a fumble late in the third quarter. Merritt and Callon Kubiak also sharked a sack on Deuse in this long series.
