Cemetery cleaning
There will be a cemetery cleaning at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Saturday, Sept. 30, beginning at 8 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring edging, weeding and mowing equipment to get the job done.
The cemetery is located on the eastern edge of Tift County off the Ferry Lake Road, 3 1/2 miles north of Enigma on the Turner Church Road.
NAACP
The Colquitt County branch of the NAACP will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Ryce Center.
Old South Day
The Ochlocknee Community Civic Club Inc. will sponsor the 41st annual Old South Day Festival 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at the old schoolgrounds, 5020 Spence St. in Ochlocknee. The celebration will feature arts, crafts, food, a parade, entertainment and more. Booth spaces are available for vendors. Call Belen Ausburn at (229) 220-1023 for details. The deadline is Oct. 31.
Homecoming and revival
Weeks Chapel United Methodist Church, on Cool Springs Road in Norman Park, will hold homecoming at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. The guest speaker will be Col. Paul Nagy. A covered dish dinner will follow the service.
The church will also hold revival at 7 p.m. Oct. 2-4 with guest speaker the Rev. Ronnie Howell. Special music will be provided nightly, including Acts of Faith on Monday and Complete In Thee on Tuesday.
