Man charged with parole violations after gun report

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Officers dispatched to a Friday morning report of a man waving a gun were reunited with a man familiar to law enforcement — after they chased him down.

Ladarrian Dominique Simpson, 25, 610 First Ave. N.W., was wanted on two active parole violations at the time he was chased down by police.

Officers were dispatched to at about 9:45 a.m. to South Boulevard after the report came in.

“A deputy made contact with a subject who turned out to be Ladarrian Simpson,” Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mike Murfin said. “He started running and he was apprehended.”

Simpson was booked on the two parole violation warrants and charged with obstruction of an officer in connection with the Friday incident.

Simpson did not have a gun at the time of his arrest.

He has served prison time on charges of attempted burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and theft by receiving stolen property, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.

• Axineye Martin, 34, 327 Second St. N.W., was charged Sunday with affixing license plate with intent to conceal identity, failure to stop for stop sign and no insurance.

• Shamas William Tindol, 41, 1936 Hwy. 37 E., was charged Monday with failure to appear.

Moultrie Police

• Deborah Ann Leslie, 48, 901 Perimeter Road, Perry, was charged Sunday with criminal trespass.

• Gregory Bernard Paulk, 50, 604 Sixth Ave., Albany.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

• Murphy Oil USA, 505 Veterans Parkway, reported Monday that a male walked into the store, grabbed two cases of Bud Light beer and walked out quickly without paying.

An employee told police that the shoplifter left in a green truck. The beer was valued at $44.

• Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S., reported Monday that a group of three women and a man shoplifted merchandise valued at $1,087.

All of the merchandise was recovered, police said, and four arrests were made.

Burglary

Moultrie Police

• Ronald Barrett, 60, Moultrie, reported Monday the theft of property valued at $20 in the 600 block of First Street Southeast.

Other investigations

Moultrie Police

• Officers responding to a burglar alarm at Standard Discount Corp., 418 First St. S.E., found a broken rear window and damaged screen.

The officers found no one inside the building.
