- Brad Gregory, 2018 campaign chair for the United Way fund-raising campaign, announces its goal of $525,000.
MOULTRIE, Ga. — The United Way of Colquitt County kicked off its annual campaign on Friday, Sept. 8, at the Myrtis Ndawula Event Center at Southwest Georgia Community Action Council.
Representatives from companies and various agencies in the community came to the breakfast to learn about United Way and to receive their materials for the campaign.
Mo Yearta, the current board chair for United Way, thanked all the volunteers for their willingness to work on this campaign. This one campaign provides funding for 32 programs at 19 different agencies in the community, and additional resources for the United Way’s partner agencies — a Day of Action, a grant writer, Teens Taking Charge and nonprofit training.
The United Way will also hold a new event this October for ladies called the Power of the Purse and there will be more information about this event coming soon.
Brad Gregory, with the Colquitt County Board of Education, is the campaign chair for the 2018 Campaign. The campaign goal this year is $525,000 and Gregory announced that the Pacesetter campaigns have already raised $68,060 which is 13 percent of the goal.
Gregory spoke about the value and optimistic spirit of employees when working together on a common goal for the community.
“This work gives everyone a valuable opportunity to be a part of something greater than ourselves which, certainly, serves a higher purpose.”
He challenged everyone to work hard to help us achieve this goal.
