VALDOSTA—Valdosta City Schools officials have not decided whether to cancel school next week but are working with the Lowndes County Emergency Management to make a decision, according to a Valdosta City School press release.
“Although the National Weather Service models are good predictors of a storm’s path, we cannot accurately forecast the course and strength of the storm until it is much closer,” the press release stated. “Because we do not want to make a decision prematurely, we will continue to monitor the storm and seek advice from our local EMA officials daily. We will offer updates via our website, social media sites, all call system and local media outlets to keep all stakeholders informed.”
