No arrests made in motel incidents

MOULTRIE, Ga. — There’s a lesson to be learned in many stories. In this one, it would be that you should behave yourself when you stay at a motel.

Varshaben Patel, 60, told Moultrie police that a man and woman who stayed at the 600 S. Main Town Terrace Motel had given her “problems” while staying there the two previous nights.

When the couple asked for a room for a third night on Saturday morning, Patel, the owner of the motel, refused to let them stay there again. At that time the man “punched out” the lobby window.

There was glass littering the entire lobby floor, police said.

Reports did not give an estimate of the cost to replace the window. A police search of the area did not turn up a suspect.

The holiday weekend excitement was not over at the hotel, however.

At about midnight Monday Bipin Patel called police to a fight in one of the rooms. The man and woman told police that they were not fighting, but Patel asked police to remove them because they were not the people who had rented the room.

When the officer entered the room, the woman told police that there was an animal in the room and wanted her to find it. Once outside, the woman said that she was scared because there were alligators in the parking lot “trying to get her.”

The woman eventually calmed down and she and the man left.
