Recreation Authority

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority will hold three meetings beginning Wednesday, Aug. 30, one of them of the full authority and the others of two different committees.

The Executive Committee will meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Recreation Office, 1024 Fourth St. S.W., to review the CPA’s recommendation and proposal for payroll services.

The full authority will consider that recommendation at a called meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Ryce Community Center.

The Documents Committee will meet with the Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority attorney about the authority startup at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Recreation Office, 1024 Fourth St. S.W.

Church anniversary

Macedonia Baptist Church will celebrate its 85th church anniversary at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, with Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Sale City and the Rev. W.C. Whitfield; at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, with Live Oak Baptist Church and the Rev. J.W. Greene; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, with Okapilco Baptist Church and the Rev. Willie Love.

Grant Chapel AME

Grant Chapel AME Church offers Wednesday Bible study noon to 1 p.m.; a weekly prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday; Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.; and worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday.

VFW meeting
