Farmer hit with 2 thefts; shots fired during one

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County detectives are investigating two thefts from farmer Mike Mobley, including one in which shots were reportedly fired.

Mobley is listed as the victim in both cases, which were reported on Sunday, sheriff’s office reports said, but he was not the one who reported being shot at.

Francisco Sanchez, of Pine Circle, said several shots were fired at him in the 1100 block of Mitchell Suber Road. During that same incident, a fertilizer pump pulley system, valued at $2,000, was reported stolen.

In the other incident, on Luke Road, a $2,500 fertilizer pump was reported stolen.

The sheriff’s office report did not indicate that anyone was injured.

• Jerry Evers, 200 block Cranford Street, Berlin, reported prescription medicine was stolen Monday.

• Kristi Roland, 600 block Blasingame Road, reported Friday that someone kicked in her front door and stole several items. Missing were three shotguns, three rifles, a 9mm pistol and a Bowie knife, altogether valued at $2,400.

• Becky Brooks, 200 block Dale DeMott Road, reported a push mower was stolen from her residence between Aug. 11 and Friday.

Sheriff’s Office

• Melissa Lea Conger, 300 block 21st Avenue Northeast, reported a case of battery Sunday. Jerry Bledsoe, of the same address, was charged with simple battery (family violence).

• An anonymous complaint brought deputies to a mobile home in the 1900 block of Sylvester Highway Saturday. The reporting officer said he could hear a loud argument from inside. No details of the altercation were provided in the report, but Ilisha Shantae Harris, 27, 1957 Sylvester Highway, Lot 39, was charged with battery (family violence).

Ronald Jermaine Johnson, 34, of the same address, who was listed as the victim in the battery case, was also charged with probation violation.

• Brenda Anderson, of Overlook Drive, reported a case of battery Friday against two Montgomery, Ala., women in the 100 block of Bert Horne Avenue. The women provided officers with the name of a suspect but no arrest was immediately made.

• Josh Lamb, 1700 block Seventh St. S.E., reported a domestic dispute Thursday in which the passenger side mirror of his car and his Apple iPhone were damaged.

• Darius Dawson, principal of the Colquitt County Achievement Center, reported a male juvenile tried to assault him in the bus pickup area at Colquitt County High School. Under the direction of the Department of Juvenile Justice, the officer turned the juvenile over to his guardian; charges are pending.

• Lalana Adele Henderson, 40, 1722 Hutchinson Drive, was charged Thursday with possession of methamphetamine.

• Joel Garcia Barragon, 37, 135 Ashley Road, was charged Friday with driving without a license and driving too fast for conditions.

• Ruben Hernandez, 3447 Sylvester Drive, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and pedestrian under the influence.

Moultrie Police

• Bryan Keith Watson, 46, 135 Cherry St., Norman Park, was charged Saturday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Michelle Denise Spence, 38, 814 Joe Louis Ave., was charged Saturday with driving without headlights when required and driving while license withdrawn.

• Tiffany Nicole Hawkins, 29, of Pavo, was charged Saturday with shoplifting.

• Toni Shawante Tyson, 24, and Terry Lee Barber, 51, both of 217 Third St. S.W., were charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

• Jeffrey Allen Edmonds, 31, 3075 Cannon Road, was charged Thursday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Shavonta Deshon Williams, 29, 526 Serena Drive, Norman Park, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

• Travis Sentel Wilson, 27, 831 Shy Manor Drive Apt. 2, was charged Thursday with probation violation, theft by receiving and theft by deception.

• Aubrey Sean Thompson, 51, 205 Seventh St. N.W., was charged Friday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Jonathan Moralies, 32, 699 Sardis Church Road, was charged Friday with DUI, open container and driving while license withdrawn.
