Qualifying for Moultrie municipal elections began Monday. A story in the Aug. 13 Moultrie Observer previewing races that are qualifying this week contained an inaccuracy.

Moultrie City Councilwoman Susie Magwood-Thomas represents District 1, Post 2 — not the post identified in the earlier story. Her seat is one of three that is up for election this year; the others are District 2, Post 5, currently held by Daniel Dunn; and District 3, Post 6, currently held by Wilma Hadley.

Qualifying will be 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Aug. 21-25 at City Hall, 21 First Ave. N.E.

Qualifying fees are $178.30 for each post, which is 3 percent of a city councilman’s salary.
