Suwannee County man holds victim hostage

LIVE OAK, Fla. — A Suwannee County man was arrested for false imprisonment and assault on Friday.

According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call regarding a domestic disturbance Jason Edward Frame, 40, was holding a victim against his will and was armed with a .25 caliber pistol.

According to the report, the victim had barricaded himself in the bedroom and called his wife, who then called 911.

According to the victim, he entered the residence he shares with the suspect that afternoon and was confronted by the suspect. The report states that the suspect made statements about people watching him.

The victim stated the suspect was not making any sense and started yelling at him, the report states.

According to the report, the victim also said the suspect had been on edge recently and he feared he was going to be harmed by the suspect.

At this time, the victim moved to the bedroom and locked himself in, the report states.

According to the victim, the suspect began to beat on the door and started yelling “you better not come out” and “I’m going to get my gun.”

The report states that SCSO SWAT tried to make contact with both subjects when they arrived on scene but were unsuccessful. According to the report, SWAT set up a perimeter and handled it as a potential hostage situation.

The report states contact was made with the victim. The victim stated he was in fear of his life and was scare to exit the bedroom.

The victim was able to open the window in the bedroom, remove the window screen and exit via the window, the report states.

Using the PA system, SWAT called out to the suspect and after three calls he exited the residence, compiled with verbal commands and was placed under arrest.

Frame was charged with false imprisonment and assault domestic violence.

“The SWAT team did an excellent job,” Sheriff Sam St. John said. “I am very proud of them.”

Frame previously was charged with second degree murder of Marie Galvani in November 2016.

The report states Frame called the sheriff’s office to report a suicide.

The report states the victim was found with a 40 lb. dumbbell weight on top of her and blunt force trauma to the head.

According to the SCSO, that charge has been reduced to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
