Police report candy bar caper

MOULTRIE — Usually it’s not a problem for an entrepreneurial person to make a little extra money by selling snacks to his co-workers.

But if the entrepreneur in question has stolen the goods, as a Moultrie business contends was the case for a Thomas County man, it moves from a work place issue to one that gets the police involved.

On Monday, Plymel’s, 800 Hwy. 133 S., reported that the man took a handful of candy bars.

Paul Stevie Clark was detained until police arrived.

Store owner George Plymel told police that he confronted Clark and that the theft totaled seven candy bars worth a total of $9. Video showed additional thefts over about a two-month period, Plymel reported.

Police arrested Clark, 47, 89 Foxcroft Drive, Thomasville, and charged him with theft by shoplifting.

In other arrests:

• Dionicia Giron-Godinez, 29, 2726 Sylvester Drive, was charged Tuesday with tag light illumination required and driving without license.

• Caleb Annius Paige, 19, 106 Cepcot Meadows, was charged Monday with driving under the influence (marijuana) and tag light illumination required.

• Austin Tomlinson, 17, 1464 Crosby Road, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct.

• Roylynne Elizabeth Cunningham, 39, 183 Royal Road, was charged Friday with giving false information or false name to police officer and possession of marijuana.

• Christopher Lee Starnes, 37, Albany, was charged Monday with burglary.

• Michael David Glasgow, 43, and Kathy Jo Vinson, 43, both of 1006 Holmes Drive.

• Darryl Grandy, 100 block Laney Avenue, reported Monday the theft of property valued at $100.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

• Willissa Wilson, 200 block Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, reported Monday the theft of a brown with black face pit bull dog of unknown value.

Wilson told police that she left her residence for about 10 minutes, and when she returned the dog was gone.

Battery

Sheriff’s Office

• Delia Gregory, 200 block East Broad Street, Norman Park, reported Sunday that a male companion struck her in the left eye.

Gregory’s injury appeared to have happened on an earlier date and officers received conflicting accounts of the incident, police said. Gregory gathered her belongings and left the residence.

No arrests were made.
