Lane shift on Highway 133 South next week

TIFTON, Ga. — State Route 133 traffic from Old Berlin Road to north of Cole Road will shift onto newly constructed lanes Aug. 15.
Georgia Department of Transportation contractor Reames and Son Construction Co. Inc. is in the process of widening a 7.9-mile section of SR 133 from two to four lanes from Old Berlin Road to Hawthorne Drive. The project is a little more than half complete and construction is scheduled to be finished June 30, 2018. The construction cost is $31.1 million.
This is one of multiple Georgia DOT projects to widen/reconstruct a total of 66 miles of SR 133 from Brooks to Dougherty counties. Two sections are complete and another three are under construction.
